What makes a good quality student blog??

What I think a good quality student blog is:

  • Has a colourful, attractive and/or eye-catcthing theme.
  • Posting posts at least once a week. Keeping them up to date.
  • Having pictures with most posts. (That’s something I need to work on.)
  • Having lots of widgets on the sidebar. Especially clustrmaps or feedjit as they’re very interesting.
  • Having detailed posts not just 2 or 3 sentences as they aren’t very interesting.
  • Having either a voki or an avatar somewhere visible. It would be awesome to have both.

To ask the question ‘What makes a good quality student blog?’ is easy but to give an answer is much harder. Everyone has different standards and expectations. I think the best way to have a good quality blog is to be honest and write about anything that you thought was good, interesting or fun because there’s most likely someone else out there in the cyber world who has some of the same interests. They will take a liking to your blog and to them it will be a good quality blog.

Flag counter!

I have just put a flag counter on my blog. It is pretty cool! To get one for yourself go to flagcounter.com and follow the directions.

Hawkesdale College vs Ummul Quro

Is there difference between school at Hawkesdale College and Ummul Quro?

There definitely is a massive difference between the two schools. For one thing you have to board at Ummul Quro while at Hawkesdale you go to school in the morning and go home in the afternoon. We see our families every night after school but they only see their families for 2 months every year. They have about 2300 students while Hawkesdale only has 260. There’s a big difference there. It would be a change to go to Ummul Quro from Hawkesdale or vice versa. The girls and boys are separate - they have separate playgrounds, separate classrooms and they only meet each other when they graduate not before hand. At Hawkesdale we are in classes with both female and male. We can go outside and play the opposite gender unlike at Ummul Quro. They learn 3 languages and we only learn 2. They learn Indonesian, Arabic and English. We learn English and Chinese (Mandarin). These are only a few explanations as to why the two schools are different. The school web addresses are :

Questions for Saiful???

Saiful is a secondary teacher who comes from Bogor, Indonesia. Here are 5 questions I’d like to ask him:

1. Can you go to school during the day and go home at night or do you have to board at the school?

2. What footwear do the students wear?

3. Do teachers have a set uniform or do they wear casual?

4. Does Indonesia have McDonalds or KFC?

5. What is the capital of Indonesia?

Lunchtime post

I am sitting in the computer room bored because it is raining and cold outside. The only way we were allowed to come inside was if we posted a post so thats what I’m doing!

Map out your house

During Maths we worked on a site called small blue printer. You can design your own house or design your real house. You can also design your own garden. To save your design on the hard drive then you have to print screen it and save it in paint. Here’s an example of what you can do!!

Chinese Voki

I have put up a Chinese Voki on my sideboard that I made last year. It has a recording I did in Chinese. Hope you like it.

Sharing Galaxy

This is a picture of what you can make on a webiste called Tag Galaxy!

First things first when you get on to the website you need to type in a tag word. In this case I typed in green. It will come up with either a world with the tag word above it or several other worlds.

If you only want your tag word click that particular world.

It will load lots of photos onto a world that you can spin around.

Choose the best part of the world and press Print Screen on the keyboard. That will copy the screen.

Open Paint and paste the image.

Select the area you want and crop it so you’ve only got the world.

Save it as a JPEG image not a Bitmap as blogs don’t like Bitmap.

Go into your blog, write a post and add the image.

Blog crash

I have just recently had my blog fixed due to it crashing. I’d like to thank all of those who helped get my blog up and running again.
