Why Should Students Blog?
-
It’s so much FUN!!
- You meet new people from different countries and different cultures
- You get to show off your stuff
- You can help teach others about you and your country/culture
- It helps your communication skills
- When someone comments on your posts it makes you feel good about yourself
- Your computers skills become more advanced
- Easy way to talk to people. Can do it whenever
- It is something that can be updated all the time. You always have so much to write about
- Having a blog means that it’s yours so you can design it however you want. It gives you a chance to personalise you site and show it off
- It makes you write about things that you wouldn’t write or write in more detail

Let me expand on these points now…
-
Well I can’t expand on this point cos how can you expand fun?? I love blogging. Ithas been one of the best things that I have done
-
Some of the countries that I have had people comment from are obviously Australia as thats where I’m from, um New Zealand, Tasmania – I know it’s not a country but it’s pretty cool to have a comment come from them, USA, etc. My cluster maps shows that people ahve been reading my blog from Canada, USA, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia, Eastern Europe and Western Europe. Having all these people looking at my blog has made me work harder at keeping my blog updated and interesting. It has made me present my blog to the very best of my ability and I’m always improving it.
-
I have posted my digital movie and just anything about my life or school. It is great to be able to post things up and have people comment on how good it is.
-
If you are always posting things about your life and school then people who are reading your blog will learn about the life of an Australian,in this case anyways.
-
It helps because you aer talking to more people that you would never have ever known otherwise.
-
When I got my first comment I felt so good and special. Someone took the time to comment on one of my posts. My first comment actually came from my acting principal. It felt really good
-
Blogging will help your computer skills because you are obviously on a computer. As I’m always on my blog writing posts and trying to make it better, I am learning something new to help improve my blog everyday.
-
If people are leaving comments then they will most likely leave an email address. You can reply to their comment and say thanks. You could even end up having an email buddy or a blog buddy by jsut leaving a comment about their comment
-
Well that one it self explanatory really. A blog needs to be worked on all the time. You need to keeping posting posts otherwise people won’t be interested anymore. It is a great thing to use though because you can use your blog for more than Computer class. We use it in Film Studies, Chinese/LOTE, Humanities, Science, Skills for living and nearly every other class.
-
Your blog is your blog. You can do whatever you want within reason. Personalise it to make it the way you want.
-
If it were me without a blog, I wouldn’t have written about any of the things I have on my blog. I would forget. This is almost like a diary that I write in except it’s on the internet
If you don’t have a blog then you should really think about getting one because they are so good!!!

Hello Flurogreen,
You have captured lots of good reasons for blogging. I agree with you on No.2. Writing is so much more purposeful if you have a real audience.

Hi Flurogreen,
Your blog is great, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. This post is particularly good because it highlights all of the benefits of students blogging. I’m definitely going to present some of your reasons to the people in charge at my school in hopes that the students at my school can get blogs too!
